12 mile run and a bloody sock….

So I did  my 12 mile long run on a treadmill today…I have to say my legs felt the strongest they have felt in a long time. I only got a small uncomfortable feeling in my ankle around mile 10….but I was feeling pretty good.

Also, I’ve learned a lesson about cutting my toenails…yikes! My good Asics sock got all bloody today. I’ve wrapped it up because it was hurting me a bit after my run :-/

Feeling a bit better today - 14 mile run in the snow!

This morning I completed my 14 mile training run in the snow. I was really worried about getting out there and slipping on ice or something, but it wasn’t that bad at all. Since I went out earlier in the day, the snow flurries were small - it was actually quite beautiful and peaceful at times.

After my run I felt pretty accomplished… I’m so glad I was able to just get it done and over with. I went to a Superbowl Party and actually felt like I could enjoy myself. I felt better about the ridiculous amount of food I ate there especially since I knew I was in a major calorie deficit.

The pictures of my watch NEVER import onto my page the right way (I already rotated it, but it still does this…). Anyway, I maintained a 10 min pace - I haven’t been fast lately but I’m trying not to overwork myself like last time.

Okay, that class totally killed my legs…

We did some Pilates in between the dances, which meant never ending leg lifts and clam shells.

My butt and the back of my things are so incredibly sore. Running tonight was a nightmare because my legs felt like a ton of bricks. I ended up only doing 5 miles instead of my usual mid-week 6…

I know taking the class was probably a mistake. I’ve over worked my legs before by lifting while training for a marathon and it was just bad news. Sigh…I’m hoping they feel better soon :(

6 mile run tonight… Meh

My muscles are so tight lately and my legs still feel a bit heavy. I was getting some pain here and there (right ankle and foot, left calf, pulling in my right knee), so not so great. I also biked and worked on back and biceps. Either I have a huge knot or I pulled something in my back shoulder, so that’s also fun - I hope it loosens up soon.

I’m kind of concerned about getting my 12 mile long run done this weekend. I really need my legs and feet to just hold out… I don’t know what else I can do.

Thinking about doing Tough Mudder….

Anyone want to give me some insight on the experience? Should I attempt it?

I’d be on a team with 3 other guys, one of them being my boyfriend. It would be May 14th in Boston, about a month after I’d run the Boston Marathon.

What other training would I have to do? Would running the marathon make me ready enough for this? I’m actually nervous about signing up, but I really want to show myself I can handle it.

Thoughts?

5 miles today in 48:30.

Could have pushed myself more, but I was afraid to. After running I got a little pain down left leg by my butt, so I guess I just need to stretch that out more…hoping it’s nothing.
