Catching Elephant is a theme by Andy Taylor
I’ve been told this a couple times in the last few days and it is quite an amazing feeling. :)
First of all, my mom decided to get a gym membership. She told me that I inspire her every day, which was a really nice thing to hear. She ran 2 miles and did some elliptical, burning 350 calories! I told her to keep it up because this should be really great for her health - both physical and mental.
I also saw an old friend tonight. He said, “You look really good. You’ve been running a lot, huh? I saw you posted about running 10 miles and I was like…holy shit! You should know you have inspired me…”
He said he was never a runner… absolutely hated it and couldn’t run more than a mile before. Then he just decided to go to the gym and ended up running 3 miles! He was saying that he felt great and plans on doing it again tomorrow, and the next day, and the day after that…
I also convinced my roommate to get to the gym tonight. She was concerned that she hadn’t gone in a while and I could tell she was leaning towards not going even though she kept saying, “But I should go…”
I was like, “You should go! Even if it’s only for 30 minutes, you will get back into it. Everyone has off weeks.”
So we headed to the gym together. Success.
I ran 7 miles tonight. :)
Feeling good even though I knew my legs were a bit more tired today. Tomorrow is my day of rest or light cycling, although I probably won’t have time to get to the gym. I’m seeing Jack’s Mannequin at the House of Blues, should be a great concert!!
12-13 miler on Sunday for my long run. Bring it.
